Education Development Trust are looking for 3 Regional Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officers to be the primary focal point for MEAL activities for the regions of Addis Ababa, Central Ethiopia Region and West Oromia. The programme will strengthen the relevance and quality of secondary education to ensure the successful transition of secondary students to tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge and attitude through enhanced implementation of the competency-based curriculum.
The Regional MEAL Officer acts as the primary focal point for MEAL activities within their assigned region. The role is responsible for coordinating and implementing day‑to‑day monitoring, data collection, accountability, and learning activities at regional and field level. The role works closely with programme staff, partners, schools, and regional education stakeholders, ensuring that high‑quality, timely, and accurate data is collected and reported, and that findings are reported to the MEAL Manager to inform programme management, learning, and accountability.
Key qualifications
- Experience in the operation of monitoring and evaluation systems on large-scale national level programmes
- Experience of working with data platforms, databases and other technologies to capture, organise and analyse data
- Experience with statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, STATA Atlas.ti or NVivo) and familiarity with IT applications to support MEAL, visualization and information management
- Experience of working in Oromia, Central Ethiopia Region or Addis Ababa.
