Are you passionate about sports and education? Do you have the drive to lead a team of coaches and inspire young athletes? Oakfield Preparatory School is looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to join us as our Head of Sport in September 2025.
As the Head of Sport, you will be responsible for all aspects of sport at Oakfield Preparatory School. You will lead our team of coaches to develop sporting excellence and encourage participation among pupils of all abilities. Your role will involve planning, delivering, and growing our sports programs both within the curriculum and co-curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a clear Development Plan for the Sports Department.
- Lead and inspire a team of sports staff, promoting good sportsmanship and conduct.
- Manage a well-balanced competitive fixture program and ensure inclusive team selection.
- Liaise with the Operations Team to maintain indoor and outdoor facilities.
- Ensure all safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed.
- Monitor and appraise sports staff, providing training and induction as needed.
- Plan and coordinate the annual sporting calendar, including fixtures, events, and Sports Days.
- Represent Oakfield at relevant association conferences and meetings.
What We Are Looking For:
- A recognised and relevant University Degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Strong understanding of the Sport and PE curriculum.
- Experience teaching within KS1 and KS2.
- Outstanding leadership and team-building skills.
- Enthusiasm for professional development and a genuine interest in working with children.

Interview details: To take place in person week commencing Thursday 1 May at Oakfield with the Head Teacher and other members of the school's Senior Leadership team. The interview process will also include teaching a Sports lesson.
