- Ensuring the site is safe, secure and ready each day for pupils and staff.
- Maintaining our grounds and external areas to a high standard.
- Driving the school minibus for educational visits and school activities when required.
- Helping with the practical side of school events and daily operations.
- Responding calmly and effectively to unexpected maintenance issues when they arise.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
- Has experience in caretaking, property maintenance or a similar role.
- Is organised, reliable and able to prioritise a varied workload.
- Understands the importance of health & safety, compliance and safeguarding.
- Works well independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Has excellent communication skills and enjoys helping others.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and is willing to obtain a D1 licence if required (training will be provided).
Why join St. Andrew's?
As well as joining a supportive and welcoming team, you'll benefit from:
- Sociable working hours and an excellent work-life balance.
- Minimal evening and weekend working.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- Supportive leadership who genuinely value their staff.
- Free school lunches during term time.
- The opportunity to make a visible difference every single day.

We understand that artificial intelligence (AI) tools (such as ChatGPT) can be helpful when applying for jobs – especially for those who require additional support during the recruitment process. However, while you may decide to use AI tools for ideas or pointers, we request that you do not rely heavily on them when answering questions. We are looking for responses that are personal to you, including details and examples of your abilities and work experience to date, and we consider copying and pasting AI-generated responses to be a misuse of AI tools. Likewise, we do not use AI-driven recruitment screening software, because we value authenticity and prefer to make personal connections with our candidates. If you have used AI to support your application – including in emails and responses to questions – please disclose this on your application form. If you would like clarification on how AI can be used in your application to edt, please contact the Recruitment team via the edt website.
