We have an exciting opportunity for a Projects Lead (Preposition) to provide EDT Zimbabwe's central project management authority, responsible for the coordinated, compliant, and results-driven delivery of all active education programmes, currently including the Roger Federer Foundation (RFF) partnership and the FCDO funded Supporting Foundation Learning & System Performance project as well as future programmes as the organisation scales.This is fundamentally a portfolio project management role. The post-holder brings discipline, structure, and coherence to a multi-project environment, ensuring that no project operates in isolation, that resources are deployed efficiently across the portfolio, and that EDT's delivery reputation with donors and government partners is protected and strengthened. As EDT Zimbabwe grows its programme portfolio, this role will be the operational backbone that makes that growth sustainable.

- Portfolio Oversight: Accountable for delivery across all projects; ensures integrated management, tracks dependencies, risks, and performance against KPIs and milestones.
- Planning & Budgeting: Consolidates project schedules into one programme plan; monitors budgets, expenditure, and financial risks.
- Delivery Assurance: Ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and quality; manages bottlenecks and standardises tools and processes.
- Donor Compliance: Oversees reporting, contract compliance, milestone tracking, and audit readiness across all projects.
- Risk & Governance: Leads portfolio-level risk management, maintains central registers, and ensures safeguarding and policy compliance.
- Team Leadership: Guides and builds capacity of project teams, fosters accountability, and promotes continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Aligns partners, government, and internal teams; supports stakeholder engagement with performance insights.
- M&E & Adaptive Management: Ensures strong monitoring systems, data quality, and applies learning to improve current and future programmes.
Person Specification
- Master’s degree in project management, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Professional certification in programme/project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, MSP) is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of programme and portfolio management frameworks and methodologies.
- In-depth understanding of donor-funded programme compliance requirements and reporting standards.
- Knowledge of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and value-for-money analysis.
- Familiarity with risk management, governance, and internal control systems in development programmes.
