About the role

Expression of Interest – Chad Region

Education Development Trust is seeking to expand its network of education professionals in Chad to support potential future technical assistance and research programmes focused on strengthening national education systems and improving learning outcomes.

We are particularly interested in connecting with both Chadian nationals and international experts based in Chad, or with strong experience in country, alongside experience working in low-resource and fragile contexts, and with a track record of engaging with government, donors and multilateral partners.

We are especially keen to hear from individuals with experience in:

  • Education system strengthening and reform, particularly improving foundational learning outcomes at scale
  • Engagement with multilateral organisations and donors, including navigating education financing and coordination mechanisms
  • Country-level stakeholder engagement, including Ministries of Education and Finance, Local Education Groups, and development partners
  • Political economy analysis and education sector analysis, particularly in fragile and crisis-affected contexts
  • Research, synthesis and report writing, including production of high-quality analytical outputs under tight timelines
  • Facilitation of senior-level dialogue and workshops, including building consensus across government and partners
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), including evidence generation and use of data to inform decision-making
  • Education in emergencies (EiE) and delivery in complex operating environments

This outreach is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen our talent pool for potential upcoming opportunities and partnerships in Chad.

All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and appropriate screening checks, which can include criminal record checks. Education Development Trust also participates in the Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme, and we may request information from relevant job applicants’ previous employers about any findings of sexual misconduct, including harassment, during employment, or incidents under investigation when the applicant left employment. By submitting an application, the job applicant confirms his/her understanding of these recruitment procedures.

We understand that artificial intelligence (AI) tools (such as ChatGPT) can be helpful when applying for jobs – especially for those who require additional support during the recruitment process. However, while you may decide to use AI tools for ideas or pointers, we request that you do not rely heavily on them when answering questions. We are looking for responses that are personal to you, including details and examples of your abilities and work experience to date, and we consider copying and pasting AI-generated responses to be a misuse of AI tools. Likewise, we do not use AI-driven recruitment screening software, because we value authenticity and prefer to make personal connections with our candidates. If you have used AI to support your application – including in emails and responses to questions – please disclose this on your application form. If you would like clarification on how AI can be used in your application to CFBT, please email [email protected].

Please note, we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis and reserve the right to close our vacancies early.
