Education Development Trust (edt) are looking for 3 GEDSI and Safeguarding Officers to support the operational delivery and day‑to‑day management of GEDSI and safeguarding activities within the regions of Addis Ababa, Central Ethiopia Region and Oromia. The programme will strengthen the relevance and quality of secondary education to ensure the successful transition of secondary students to tertiary education or the world of work by equipping them with relevant skills, knowledge and attitude through enhanced implementation of the competency-based curriculum.
The Regional GEDSI and Safeguarding Officers are responsible for the operational delivery and day‑to‑day management of GEDSI and safeguarding activities within their region. They will be responsible for implementing and embedding the programme’s safeguarding policy and procedures and will work closely with the GEDSI and Safeguarding Specialist to ensure that edt’s interventions in their region are inclusive, equitable, and safe for all participants, particularly girls, disabled students, and other marginalized groups.
Key qualifications
- Experience in gender, safeguarding, disability, or social inclusion roles, preferably in education or youth development programmes in a relevant region or country level capacity
- Experience delivering training and awareness activities for diverse audiences, including educators and youth
- Experience of working with disadvantaged youth, including adolescent girls, refugee students, and children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Familiarity with national and international safeguarding and child protection standards, including knowledge of CAPSEAH and digital safeguarding issues and risks.
