Job Coach
Location: Hillingdon
This is a full time (37 hours per week) in term time only 12-month fixed term contract
Job Purpose
The Job Coach will work with students to identify their strengths, interests and abilities related to skill acquisition, job development and employment; and will use job coaching techniques to support their development towards employability.
The role holder will seek appropriate employment consistent with the student’s interests and skills and will work with local business and industries to meet their employment needs.
The Job Coach will also determine and refer young people on the programme to appropriate support services as needed
The role involves delivering tailored information and guidance to SEND young people participating an internship programme within Hillingdon, ensuring they receive appropriate support throughout their journey. This includes providing mentoring and in-work assistance, advocating when necessary, and maintaining accurate, confidential records in compliance with contractual and quality standards.
The postholder will proactively monitor progress using multiple communication channels, such as social media, email, and SMS, and record all interactions within the management information system. Building strong relationships with internal and external professionals is essential, with a focus on collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement. The role also requires adherence to corporate social media policies and safeguarding procedures, including mandatory training to promote the welfare of children and at-risk adults.
Job Coaches maybe required to work in a range of locations including community venues and employers’ premises and there will be occasional travel involved in the job, therefore, the role holder must hold a full driving license, have access to a vehicle and be prepared to travel within the region. It may be necessary to work outside normal office hours.
