About the role

Duration & Goal: INSPIRED is a 3 year UK funded programme that will improve quality of Early Childhood Education (ECE) and foundational learning skills for 200,000 Kenyan children, including 100,000 of the most marginalized in Wajir and Mandera Counties.

Delivery & Technical Partners: INSPIRED will be delivered by Education Development Trust (EDT) alongside partners Agakhan Foundation (AKF), Sight Savers, Wajir Peace & Development Agency (WPDA) and Voice of Peace for All (VOPA).

Programme Components: INSPIRED will be delivered through the following 3 main components to achieve quality, equitable, inclusive and sustainable impact across the board:

  • C1: Support Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms (PWPER) around foundational learning
  • C2: Deliver strong evidence based Early Childhood Education (ECE) models in Wajir and Mandera for existing government-funded ECE centres
  • C3: Generate robust evidence on effective strategies for delivering ECE to influence policy and practice.

We are currently seeking a Early Childhood Education (ECE) Coordinator to provide technical expertise on ECE, with responsibility to ensure the quality of programme outputs reflect international best-practice in ECE tailored for the local context and will work with partners to deliver programme outcomes. This includes overseeing the quality of the end-to-end design and creation of the training, teaching and instructional resources for the Inspired programme, and the content and metrics of national-level policies.
