About the role

The Education Development Trust IT department are recruiting for a Lead Technical Support Analyst to join the team.

The successful candidate will have experience of first, second and third line technical support. They will be organised, proactive, and willing to learn and develop their skills and knowledge. Attention to detail and the ability to document all tasks undertaken is key to the role. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to provide guidance, direction and support to all areas of the IT team. They must also be able to explain technical solutions to non-technical users & key stakeholders with a desire to improve our end user experience. The candidate will also manage infrastructure billing and contract renewals, ensuring they are fit for purpose or whether new products need to be identified.

You will have a good working knowledge of the latest Windows Server & Microsoft Azure Platform as well as Windows 7 and 10, also Office 365 & Office packages. Experience of server management (i.e. Active Directory and Group Policy) is essential. Understanding networking and being able to troubleshoot wired and wireless Ethernet networks are required. Sound knowledge of internet security applications & IT Security Health Checks is also important. You should have a desire for future technology trends and developments that will help Shape the future of the IT and our wider community at Education Development Trust 

The Candidate will be based in the Education Development Trust head office in Reading. While the role is undertaken primarily during office hours, it will involve periods of out-of-hours working in order to meet the needs of the business. Some national and international travel will also be required for short periods.
