About the role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Careers Advisers to join our Education Development Trust careers team. 

We are inviting expressions of interest for Careers Advisers to work across various contracts and projects on a casual basis. This may include working with adults in a range of community settings or with young people in schools and colleges. You will be delivering tailored careers information, advice and guidance to meet the needs of your customers or students, completing compliance paperwork and ensuring an outstanding service is offered at all times. Our careers advisers are expected to work flexibly and independently but will be supported as part of the wider team.  Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with adults and young people on an individual and group basis and be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with other professionals, stakeholders and partners.

You will:

  • understand the career information, advice & guidance needs of adults and/or young people
  • hold an appropriate qualification in careers or guidance
  • enjoy working with people to help them achieve their career goals
  • have a professional but friendly attitude
  • have an open-mind and be non-judgemental
  • want to make a difference and be able to bring out the best in others
  • be approachable and articulate
  • be organised and methodical
  • have excellent administration and IT skills
  • have knowledge of the local labour market and issues relating to learning and employment.
  • have demonstratable experience in the use of social media platforms
  • have a collaborative approach and be able to demonstrate building and maintaining effective internal and/or external relationships
