About the role

Immigration Liaison Officer

CfBT Education Services employs a workforce of 200 specialist English Language teachers recruited from overseas to work in Brunei schools. By working in close collaboration with its key partner, the Brunei Ministry of Education, CfBT delivers excellence in education to its key beneficiaries: the primary and secondary students of Brunei Darussalam. CfBT also employees a team of local administrative support staff who provide HR, Welfare, Finance, IT, and Property and Facilities services.

CfBT Education Services is inviting applications from highly motivated, customer-focused individuals with immigration and labour visa-processing experience (e.g. through past employment with the government, a visa services provider or diplomatic mission), who are interested in joining our HR team as an Immigration Liaison Officer. This is a full-time role for a fixed-term period of 12 months, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent after this period.

The successful applicant will provide advice, guidance and support to teachers regarding employment and dependent visa applications and renewals, as well as carry out related administrative processes and liaise with Immigration and Labour Department representatives on visa matters.  This role works closely with HR and Welfare team colleagues.

The successful applicant will already possess the required knowledge, experience and skills specified in the attached job description and will, therefore, be expected to very quickly assume the responsibilities and demands of this role. They will also be expected to hold a full valid Brunei drivers’ licence and be able to drive to various government offices in the course of their duties. A fuel allowance will be provided.

This position is open only to Brunei Nationals or permanent residents.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Education to at least ‘O’ Level
  • Experience with Brunei immigration and labour visa-related processes
  • Frontline customer service experience
  •  Possession of a full and valid Brunei drivers’ licencOther requirements as per the job description

  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills.

  • Proficiency in the MS suite of software applications, in particular MS Excel
