About the role

We have a number of fantastic opportunities for Careers Advisers to join the Education Development Trust Careers teams in either the Hampshire, Sussex or Surrey regions.

Whether you are a qualified / part-qualified Careers Adviser or seeking a new challenge in this rewarding industry, we would love to hear from you! We are hiring for both permanent and temporary opportunities.

Successful candidates will:

  • enjoy working with people to help them achieve their career goals
  • have a professional but friendly attitude
  • have an open-mind and be non-judgemental
  • want to make a difference and be able to bring out the best in others
  • be approachable and articulate
  • be organised and methodical
  • have excellent administration and IT skills
  • have an understanding of the career information, advice & guidance needs of adults and
  • preferably some experience in this area of work.

If you don't hold a qualification in Careers, a degree, HND or foundation degree in a sociology or education-related topic could be beneficial.

Our Careers Advisers are expected to work flexibly and independently but will be supported as part of the wider team. Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with adults on an individual and group basis and be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with other professionals, stakeholders and partners.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an assessment day on Thursday 14th February 10:00-14:00
