About the role
Education Development Trust is a leading education services charity working in over 80 countries. We have a 40 year track record in the provision of influential consultancy, research and large scale programmes which transform school systems worldwide.

The Research & Consultancy unit delivers profitable high-quality consultancy to governments and donors globally, as well as research, solutions and ‘blue skies’ thinking for our clients. We are recruiting a project manager to oversee the delivery of these consultancy projects. This role will lead and project manage the implementation and the transitional phases (e.g. start-up, close down, extension, re-tender) of UK and international consultancy projects to ensure organisational, client and beneficiary objectives are achieved on time and to budget.

This role represents an exciting opportunity for a project manager to join a fast-growing and innovative organisation. We welcome applications from candidates with the following knowledge, experience and skills:
  • Understanding of the UK and international education sector including knowledge of the key priorities of international donors in education.
  • Proven track record of project management – mobilising, managing and delivering a mixture of small and larger more complex projects – within the context of achievement of project outcomes and effective management of project dependencies.
  • Excellent planning, strategic thinking and organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time and to plan effectively to meet client deadlines.

The role is a permanent position based at Education Development Trust’s Reading offices. Some travel may be required including participation with project activities when appropriate.

Initial telephone interviews will be held on Tuesday 29th January with face-to-face interviews taking place on Wednesday 6th February.
