About the role

Sevenoaks (Kent) and surrounding areas

We are inviting applications for a level 6 qualified Careers Adviser with SEND experience to work part-time in SEND schools within Sevenoaks and surrounding areas commencing in the Autumn term 2021. This is a face to face role with the successful candidate working onsite on the school.

You will have:

  • An understanding of and a commitment to, equality of opportunity for all
  • Knowledge of the local labour market and issues relating to learning and employment
  • Demonstrate an up to date knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements of working with young people
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant developments in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance
  • Demonstrate professional commitment to children’s rights, equal opportunities and diversity
  • Thorough knowledge of education, employment, training and personal development opportunities that are available for young people
  • An understanding of working with young people and their careers aspirations.
  • Experience of working with young people preferably in a school or college setting

Our Careers Advisers are expected to work flexibly and independently but will be supported as part of the wider team.  Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
