We are recruiting an Employment Coach for a ongoing programme at Education Development Trust called Making a Difference and working onsite at the Amber Foundation based in Surrey.  Follow this link to read more about the foundation.  https://amberweb.org/

This is a very specific role that will be based at The Amber Foundation 2 days per week with .5 day on admin (either onsite or working from home).

What is Making a Difference?  

Making a Difference is a brand-new programme to be delivered by Education Development Trust in the Coast to Capital region of England. The programme is a European Social Fund (ESF) match funded programme which is designed to support both unemployed and economically inactive participants, the aim being to progress them to job search readiness or into paid employment. 

Although this role is based at The Amber Foundation our Employment Coaches also provide face to face Employability Information, Advice and Guidance to adult customers in a range of community and employer settings.

The key objectives of the role include:

The Employment Coach will provide direct support, advice, guidance and training including practical and emotional support to Young People at The Amber Foundation who are preparing for employment and/or looking for work.

The role is to develop individual packages of support to a Young Person based on their strengths, skills and own choices and preferences. This may involve group and/or 1-1 support, particularly focusing on employability, education and training. 

The Employment Coach will work closely with the Amber Transition Support Worker and will pro-actively build relationships with employers to offer opportunities for Young People and work effectively with the employer and Young Person to support them in their transition from Amber to independence.

The Employment coach will help young people to develop the skills and knowledge of what is required to hold down a job and live independently as well as understanding the support networks and other opportunities available to them.

The ideal candidate will be able to really support each Young Person, educating them on the world of work, encouraging personal development and self-esteem, putting them at ease and understanding their challenges.

We are looking for candidates who have experience with Youth Work and/or working with people with significant barriers like addiction, ex-offenders, homeless etc. 

Successful applicants will be supported in obtaining a relevant qualification. If you already hold an IAG Level 4 qualification or above, please apply for the qualified Employment Coach position.
